WHICH THERAPY FOR YOU ?
June specialises in the following four therapies. The choice of therapy
depends on the client, the client’s age (young person), the depth
of the problem. Following an initial consultation, June would make her
recommendation as to the best therapy for you.
Listed here are four different therapies:
1) Suggestion therapy - uses hypnosis
2) Insight analytical therapy – uses hypnosis
3) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy – uses some hypnosis
4) Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT – tapping)
There are three completely different methods of therapy
using hypnosis
1) Suggestion Therapy – uses hypnosis
... is used for simpler problems: these include smoking cessation, nail
biting, test/exam nerves, finding lost valuables, childbirth and relaxation,
(possibly weight reduction). The client relaxes in the chair and June
puts into their minds, the unconscious mind, thoughts as to how the client
will feel when they open their eyes. Can only get the client to feel how
they want to feel, cannot make anyone feel how they don’t want to
feel. Usually only one, two or three sessions are needed, with perhaps
a booster at a later date.
Hence: hypnotherapy
2) Analytical Therapy (sometime called “Insight Analytical Therapy”)
– uses hypnosis
is used for more deep-rooted problems. Children cannot rationalise or
intellectualise, and are influenced by their interpretation of events.
If these events are of a nature which fear or frighten the child, the
subconscious mind often represses (buries) the memory and certainly the
emotion attached to the memory, this allows them to carry on with their
life. However, this repression can cause an ‘inner anxiety’,
which might show external signs (symptoms) such as compulsive eating,
migraines, phobias, sexual problems, anxiety, depression, panic attacks
or many other conditions. This therapy – hypno-analysis - is founded
on the doctrine of 'cause and effect'. When the ‘cause’ of
the problem is found, the emotion released, thus the ‘cause’
is removed, then the ‘effect’ - the symptoms - will disappear.
Our approach here is to deal with the ‘cause’ of the problem,
rather than merely controlling the symptoms that it produces.
The use of hypnosis in this therapy speeds up the analysis dramatically,
and in just a few weeks can achieve results similar to those expected
from a two or three year course of traditional analysis.
There is no reason why anyone should put up with something "inside
themselves but outside their control", provided they are prepared
to devote time, money, and effort to be free of their problem.
Hence: hypno-analysis
3) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) – Includes relaxation hypnosis
CBT breaks up old patterns of negativity. We have thoughts which lead
to feelings which lead to behaviour. Where a client wants to change their
behaviour, through therapy they are helped and guided to think a different
way – this produces different feelings which lead to different behaviour.
Part of the session does include relaxation/hypnosis. This is a therapy
for today, tomorrow and future tomorrows. (For more information see Link
to CBT).
4) Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) (As seen on TV)
EFT (sometimes called tapping) is a meridian therapy, it is based on
this theory or foundation statement. “All negative emotions are
caused by a disruption in the body's energy system”.
Clients enjoy this therapy (no hypnosis is used). Also great with children.
It’s fun, and at the end of your therapy, leaves you, the client,
with a skill that you can use to your advantage for the rest of your life.
